Great history on the waterfront. Jun 2020. I walked through Historic Spanish Point for the first time. As a Selby Gardens member, I am now a member of HSP too and I can't wait to go back. It is a beautiful place to practice social distancing while enjoying nature and becoming absorbed in the history that goes back thousands of years.

Between 1959 and 1962, scientists started digging around Spanish Point, excavating burial mounds and shell middens, a landfill of sorts for domestic discards.
