The E30 Hartge range was fairly similar to Alpina's C and B range, with designations associated with their engine displacement. From the 170 horsepower H23 to the 210 horsepower H27, tuned versions of the M20 were employed - some with unique individual throttle bodies, bespoke exhaust manifolds and camshafts, and other trick items.

Despite being a 1986 BMW E30 body, this is no longer a BMW - this is a 1987 Hartge H26. It was also more than just a body kit but nothing too insane past that. These cars were more of an evolution in performance of the standard E30. For example, the 11-spoke aluminum wheels are made specifically for Hartge by BBS and measure out to 16x7.5.

English: A 1983 Hartge H23, E30 BMW 3-series. Only 35 of these were built, of which five were brought in and federalized by Performance Motorsports in Florida - this is the only burgundy one of those. The side skirts and rims are not standard (though Hartge pieces). The H23 has 170PS rather than the 143 of the standard BMW 323i.
