Being a pre 1990 model means it was built in what later became the Fender Custom shop, and it certainly has more of a hand built vintage feel compared to the later AVRI guitars.

I have owned all three, including a Thinskin 62 AVRI. WITHOUT QUESTION, the AV65s are the superior machine. The CS had a lot of cool "vibe" and a cool look, but it just seemed like a bunch of window dressing on a 62AVRI.
